Ulysses. Paris: Shakespeare & Co., 1924. Fifth Printing (September 1924). All edges uncut. Scattered brown spotting to wrappers, age-toning to contents, pages brittle (as usual with this issue) off-setting mark to publisher’s imprint on title page but overall a very good copy of the most fragile edition of Ulysses published by Shakespeare & Co.

This edition is distinguished by its cream wrappers, with title printed in blue on upper wrapper and on spine (a departure from the usual blue wrappers and white lettering), and ‘Price: Sixty Francs’ printed lower wrapper. Four page list of ‘Ulysses Additional Corrections’ at rear.

This was the fifth of a total of eleven editions published by Sylvia Beach at Shakespeare & Co. between February 2, 1922 and May 1930. A nice presentation item, housed in attractive solander box.
