This collection is made up of the poems in his first book ‘Wild Earth (1907) and of later poems dealing with typical people of the Irish countryside.

Poems include ‘A Drover,’ ‘The Old Woman of the Roads,’ and ‘She Moved Through the Fair.’ The manuscript poem ‘The City Clocks’ appears in his collection ‘Other Lands and Seas.’
