Plunkett’s book of poems published posthumously in 1916. He married Grace Gifford on the eve of his execution (for his part in the Easter Rising in April of that year).

As the widow of the heroic Plunkett, Grace played her part in the wars that followed, including the Civil War. She never married again and died alone in 1955. She was buried with full military honours and the president attended her funeral.
