Maroon cloth boards, title in gilt to spine, top edge in gilt, in publisher’s dust jacket printed in black. Spine of jacket lightly chipped at head, otherwise a nice bright copy.
Inscribed by the Author on the front free endpaper:
“An Aimless Joy is a Pure Joy,” & dated 30/4/34.
The line is from Yeats’s the poem ‘Tom O’Roughley,’ which was first published in ‘Nine Poems’ (1918) and then in ‘The Wild Swans at Coole’ (1919).
The poems are arranged chronologically from his first collection ‘Crossway’ (1889) to ‘The Winding Stair and other Poems’ first published in 1933.
