Liam O’Flaherty’s ‘The Assassin’ vividly portrays Dublin life with a depth few Irish writers have achieved. The novel draws inspiration from the 1927 assassination of Irish government minister Kevin O’Higgins. A year after its publication, Arthur Robinson adapted it into the first eponymous film, followed by a second version in 1935 directed by John Ford, a cousin of the author.

Originally released in a limited edition of 150 copies the same year, this signed trade issue is rare in commerce.
