A pioneering figure in Irish poetry, this, her first book ‘New Territory’ was published in 1967. Her poems and essays have appeared in magazines such as The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Kenyon Review and American Poetry Review.

Desmond Egan was born in 1936 in Athlone, County Westmeath. He has published 24 Collections of poetry and published translations of Sophocles’ Philoctetes and Euripides’ Medea.
