Belfast born, Joseph Campbell (1879-1944) was a poet & illustrator. He joined the Gaelic League in 1900 and became a fluent Irish-speaker, using the Irish form of his name, ‘Seosamh MacCathmaoil.’

He also illustrated a version of ‘The Tain’ by Mary Hutton.
