Also inscribed by Murphy on the half-title page: ‘To Mary and Gerry, with thanks for your inspiring care which helped to make these poems and love from Richard, 11th July, 1983.” The first poem is entitled Dedication: Silver Wedding (To Gerald and Mary Cookson on their Silver Wedding).
