The second volume in the series. The first volume entitled ‘Inis-Owen and Tirconnell. Notes, Antiquarian and Topographical’ was published in 1891 in a limited edition of 100 copies, and hence is rare in commerce.

An engineering contractor by profession, Doherty was born in Buncrana in 1834. An advocate of an improved educational system, he was a man of literary and antiquarian interests, he published various papers and this, the second of his highly regarded volumes on the antiquities of his native Donegal.
