Bound in full straight grained green morocco boards, wide decorative border in gilt with raised bands, compartments with floral gilt-stamped decoration and lettering to spine; decorative gilt inner dentelles with a floral and vine pattern, all edges gilt. Light shelf-wear to edges & spine hinges, otherwise a nice bright copy.

Ex library Sir J. Bernard Burke with his initials J.B.B. embossed to centre of upper board. Inscribed on second endpaper: “Sir J. Bernard Burke, Ulster, from his sincere friend S.P. Ver??”

Sir John Bernard Burke (1814-1892) was a British genealogist and Ulster King of Arms, who helped publish Burke’s Peerage.
