The first edition and the first in his series of ‘Beginner Books’ was published in 1957. It was issued in unglazed boards and with a dust jacket. Later editions were issued in glazed boards and without a jacket.

Dr. Seuss, pseudonym of Theodor Seuss Geisel, wrote and illustrated more than 60 books, including many of the most popular children’s books of all time.
