This copy is inscribed to General Ian Hamilton by Viscount Gough (Lough Cutra Castle, 1912). Sir Ian Standish Monteith Hamilton  had an extensive British Imperial military career in the Victorian and Edwardian eras. He was command of the Gallipoli operations during World War 1.
