Bound in sued boards, silver bas panel to centre of upper cover, bookplate to front pastedown. All edges in gilt.

Gift inscription to second blank “To Edward Grove, 1911, from his Sister.”

A lovely item, with verses from well-known British & international poets, including Browning, Byron, Dante, Keats, Milton, Poe, Shelly, Shakespeare, Spencer, etc. Irish content by William Allingham & Oliver Goldsmith.

The creator is unknown but likely to be the sister of the recipient Edward Grove, with his ornate bookplate to front pastedown. Evidently painstakingly produced, each page is numbered by hand, with a reference index at rear.
