First publishing in 1907 the Bodley Head edition was the first to publish the full suite of sixteen Beardsley illustrations, incorporating a pictorial title-page and 15 plates in the text.

Also included is a double-page facsimile of the theatre bill for the operatic version by Richard Strauss, premiered in December 1905.
