Self-Portrait is the Text of a Television programmed originally transmitted by Radio Telefís Eireann on 30 October 1962. The programme was produced by Jim Fitzgerald.

A first issue, published in 1963, was withdrawn as Kavanagh objected to the photograph Liam Miller used on the dust jacket which he believed depicted him as dishevelled and uncouth. At his insistence all but a few copies were destroyed, only a handful are known to exist.
